April

One day Callie kept holding the chap stick tube in her mouth like this, while she played. What a smart girl, to figure out a way to use both hands but still hold the chap stick. haha.

One day last week we woke Callie up from her nap and went into town. This was the face she made for like 15 minutes. She looked so cute and so much older. It was pretty funny.

April Fools

This is my dad. He's a State Trooper. You wouldn't think he was by this picture, but he's definitely a fun and goofy dad. And he got me good on April Fools day. Here's the story:

Okay so I was getting ready to do the dishes when he called me. This is what he said, "So mom got a call from Tims mission presidents wife this morning. You know how he's had problems with his molars? Well he hasn't been able to get them looked at since our insurance doesn't cover him where he's at, and they're really bothering him right now. So the dentist finally decided to just look at them for him and I guess one is infected really bad. So anyways, his mission presidents wife called and said he will have to come home to get them fixed- I'm not sure what they'll do though, but it sounds pretty serious because she said he'll probably have to come home as early as Sunday." (By this point I'm crying a little!) Dad: "But I guess Tim is heart-broken because he has to come home early." I was quiet the whole time, crying, and dad finally noticed the silence, so he asked if I was still there.
I was quiet a little longer and said, "yeah" as I started bawling.
Then he said, "Ashley, are you crying?!"
Me- bawling loudly, "Yes."
Dad: "Why are you crying?"
Me- in my bawling voice, "Because I feel bad for Tim and that he has to come home early from his mission, when he's having such a great time there."
Dad: "Oh Ashley, APRIL FOOLS!"
Me: still bawling loudly.
Dad- laughing in a feeling bad kind of way, "You're not supposed to cry Ashley. I tried to come up with something that wouldn't make you cry. I was going to tell you that your mom was in the hospital or that I lost my job. I didn't want you to cry."
Me- still bawling.
Dad- kind of laughing, "I'm sorry Ashley."
In the background I kept hearing my mom saying, "Did you make her cry?!" Then my dad had me talk to her while he went and picked Brady up from school. My mom got on the phone and tried to calm me down, but I just couldn't stop, even though I thought it was kind of funny- well a good April Fools joke. He finally got me...not very easy for that to happen. :) But mom kept saying that the joke was on him because I cried and made him feel bad. haha He got me!
